My '77 Maverick was converted to a 60's mustang floor shift before I bought it, the stick is a piece of junk and I will be replacing it as I restore the car. I would love to get a rachet shifter for the car, but I'm open to anything. What models/brands/styles of aftermarket (or ford interchange) have you installed?

I used a mid 80's Mustang cable operated shifter in mine. I liked the fact that it looks similar to a stock Maverick floor shifter and doesn't stick up several inches like the aftermarket offerings.

I used a B&M Unimatic shifter. It is a cable shift. It looks so amazing. Everybody that sees it compliments it.

Todd, can you post a pic or two of the shifter? I will eventually go to the floor shift. Right now, I like the stock column shift-auto with the long tube headers. But one day............. Country
