i am looking at a j code 302 4v from a 68 mustang gt to put in my mav.it is complete and runs good what is a fair price? is there a differance (other than compression and intake)from a standard 302?
Stock? J-code 302's(1st year) was rated at 250HP gross. I wouldn't say that it is worth more than most other used 302's would be worth. Price depends on the condition-runs good? But mileage? It could be bought for $50 in some places and $500 in others. It's hard to say. Seth
I bought one a few years ago less carb and alternator. At a scrap yard for $15.00. I still have it laying around to rebuild for my 67 Mustang convertible.
The cylinder heads should be 4V specific if original. Running and driving with C8ZE intake manifold and C8ZF Autolite 4300 carburetor, and all the correct engine accessory brackets and pulleys? Easy $500, more if it comes with a C4, lots more if a toploader 4 speed.
