want to convert my 3 on the tree to 3 on the floor, however im having trouble locating a shift kit or conversion kit. its a 73 maverick 4 door with 302. i am currently looking for plans for a shift kit so i can fabricate it. can any one help with this (blueprints, plans, pics of setups,etc...)?

I would think all you need is a floor shifter? You would either have to find a manual floor shift hump panel, or just cut a hole. Im not sure what it would take to delete the visual parts on your column, maybe a just collar from a floor shift car.

The easiest way is to swap the tranny tail housing and shifter to one out of a floor shift car ....

hurst made two in the 90's but they are no longer available (master shift is the one you speak of). i do have access to a metal shop and am a decent fabricator so the plans or install instructions will even work for me.

They are all the same. Have him unbolt the entire output housing with the shifter and linkage still attached and then bolt it into your car.

Yes. The tail housing. 4 bolts and it's off.

my maverick was swapped from the column to the floor. I will check and see if it is a kit or the tail housing was replaced. I'll post back and see if you're interested.
Does your column shift still work?

Little tang on bottom of the shift tube is probably broken. Don't know if one is repopped, but the floor is a nice touch. Much less trouble in the long run.
