That i am looking forward too. I really got a thing for cars dead in a field or sitting in the bone yard. But i still love the restored cars too.bananaman:bananaman
right now only 2 1972 2dr maverick 5.0 c4 1973 4dr mav 250 c4 parts car and storage building I've had about 12 altogether but most were pieces of crap I sold some, traded some and parted a bunch out
I'm pretty much to that point. The reason I have the number I do is because I don't like to crush them. Although I have two that will eventually get crushed (they are SUPER SUPER rusty). The more we crush, the less that are available. I don't know about other parts of the country, but it's hard to find one here that doesn't have a rusty cowl and floor pans. Yes, Doug has some super nice cars! I agree, he probably has the most nice, running cars.
Darren’s and comrick317 are right you guys are spoiled, I'll edit his post to my liking. Do you southern guys realize how lucky you are to have all those surviving cars???? Some of you using them as daily drivers and we would almost kill to have more than one running Maverick or Comet. So Rando76 do you have the most running cars?
11 running WOW! How great that would be, me I'll settle for 1-3 but at least one Comet or Comet GT clone with the Maverick.
yeah he is restoring all of them he is gonna have a special garage built and name it the maverick ranch.. He wants to have one of every year and make. ANd its gonna be set up like a museum.
Rando, that's a good attitude to have with project cars. i think ill try that with the station wagon... ok maybe not. but it works for the mav. i just gotta find out why she wont turn over and it should be good to go and ready for bodywork/paint. but it could run...
more than half of my parts cars have run, most have driven but were too rusty to put back on the road. i bought two once in OH and drove both of them down the street before loading them on the trailer. one was a '76 6cyl car and was BAD rusty and one was a '73 2dr LDO with a bad rod knock. oh, also bought 2 in TN that were almost the same. both drove up onto the trailer. one was a V8 and ran great but had some bad rust in the roof (vinyl top car) and the other was a '73 2dr 6cyl car that had no brakes, a tree fell on it and had rust holes big enough to throw a cat in. those are just some of my adventures with "parts" cars....
yah... I only have two babies at the moment (sniff - wowess mee) I hope to adopt 10 or 20 old Fords before they disappear - just need a pasture to put them into. Since there's no land in Vancouver for less than $1M for a few square feet, maybe my brother or a buddy in the interior will corral them for me. I think we've got similar gov't schemes going on here... $2K cash incentives to crush your old car and buy into one of them new plastic & styrofoam hybrid econoboxes.
