http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2473042116&category=6057 Is this guy smoking something or is this really a 71? It's got 72 bumpers on it doesn't it? I'm a little leery of the no rust claim too.
It looks like the one on ebay has had the backing plate removed and the bumper moved in about 6 miles. 73'
Of course the bumpers could have been changed, but it looks like a 73 to me....I am sure I will get corrected.
Nawwww, it has the small bumper - look closely (the ends where it curves around the body show it really well. It looks the same as the bumper on the white Mav). It also has the small bumper valence and license plate bracket. Those bumper guards are the correct ones for the 71-72 (tall and skinny). 73 have the ones which are short and fat.
O I C! i was seeing that sanded area below the bumper and just glancing at it kinda made it look like a scuffed corner of a 73' bumper. Sorry, I am going to delete those pics so I do not take up all of Stefans space. Thanks for helping me.
Yep, that pic is not the best... As far as that Mav goes, it always amazes me how much a V8 in a Mav will raise the price. I mean, I have seen many 6 cylinder Mavs (even Grabbers) in much better shape not get the attention this one is getting purly because it is a V8.... I wonder what it will go for? -Corbin
He won't be getting the reserve price that's for sure. I think the "cloudy day" paint job gives it a little extra value though . I really thought only 72's and up had the bumper guards. I have a 71 and it doesn't have the guards. Was it an option for 71 or does one of the cars have the wrong bumpers? I'm betting that things got a good amount of rust on it, seems like even California cars have their share of rust problems.
I would be surprised to see the car hit the reserve. I agree about the comment about V-8 Mavs bringing more vs. inline sixes.
