Sorry i voted before i read everything else. As i always would say to try to save a Maverick or Comet, i have changed my mind and now say to use it as parts instead. For what you paid and that massive dent on the roof this Mav is better suited for parts.......... but then of course, a flatblack, topless rat rod would be real coooool!!!

I think it depends. I don't know how everyone judges the condition of cars in other parts of the country, but if I find a car here with clean quarters and cowl then I call it a builder. I'd be willing to work on that roof if the quarters and cowl aren't rusty.

I have to agree with Darren...That would be a project car in this neck of the woods.Rust aint rust up here unless you park the car lock the doors and find stray cats sleeping in it the next morning :yup:.Ultimately it will come down to how much money/time you are willing to put in it to make a driver out of it.If its too costly...part it out.

Too bad. If the floor is in bad shape, then the cowl is most likely rusty as well. :( I would proably call it a parts car then. But anything is fixable if you really want to put the work into it. The more cars we part, the less around. They're not making more of these you know.

Roof "could" be fixed with 15 gallons of bondo. Maybe in two thin coats.

Make it a daily driver unless the sub-frames or torque boxes are bad.
If you like to spend the time and money to fix it no matter what then go for it!
I hate to see these cars go to the scrap heap.
