I've been trying to find the best tire size for my maverick that will fit both front and rear with the same sized tire. Right now I'm runnign 235/60-15's on the front and 255/60-15's on the rear, I like both sizes but I want to run one size all around... I've thought about running the 235's on the back as well but would like some input on larger sizes... I learned the hard way that the 255's wount fit up front without some modifications, I asked a tire shop to do a rotation of which I assumed they would notice the two obviously different sizes and just rotate side to side but no they did front to back, well just driving the 100' or so out than back into the garage area was enough to cut up the 255's alot... but it did look cool on the front though... anyway let me know what you think.

btw I've been woundering how much tread is actually neccissary? It would also be nice to get some tires on there that I can actually get at a local tire shop instead of always having to special order them.

I think you answered your own question. Stick with the 235's all the way around. :yup:

Than my next question is should I use my 15x7's which is what my 235's are currently on or should I use my 15x8's which is what my 255's are on but the 235's would fit on...

is anyone using 15x8" rims up front? thanks.

I would go with the 15x7's for all the way round. The 8's are not going to accomplish anything but cause uneven tire wear.

I've been tosing around ideas of staying with 15's to trying to change them. to larger rims and what size, if I stay with 15's I would only need to pick up 2 more rims to make a set of 4, don't know if 245's would fit where 255's wount... I've thought about getting rims and tire off a old police crown victoria, I think they run 225/60-16... but my luck at salvage yards is terrible. I'm sorry I just thought I'd hear abit more from people who run the same tires all around but I think most people run differant sized tires like I am currently running. thanks.

What back spacing works for 15X7 rims?

4.25 works but was close to the rear leaf spring with a 235-60-15 and with the same tire/rim it was close to full lock hitting the front valence but worked without rubbing none the less...

so perhaps 4inch BS would be better or 3.75
