Well the tailight conversion is done, some very calculated cutting on the panel( it was hard for me to make that first cut into a perfectly good panel) I think it turned out pretty good though.
One more Some windshield sealer around the lights on the panel gives it a clean molded in look....that stuff is a pain in the butt to work with though.
Here ya go Jerry, the sealer is strictly for cosmetics and weatherproofing. I fabricated some 18 gauge aluminum channel and drilled 4-2" holes centered on the bulb openings, these were then bolted to the filler neck bracket and to the body behind the quarter panel extensions. The wiring harness work is temporary until I can get a sequential harness and relays. right now the 2 inside bulbs are brakes and 1 outside is turn, they are all on when the lights are on. They light the back of the car reall well
looks like a nice, clean job. i think fast fords had an article on installing the sequential taillights on a mustang this month.
There are reverse light sockets on those lenses but I'm not using them...I'm gonna put some down on the lower valence, just above and to the left and right of the tailpipes
That is one of the best looking jobs I've seen, and I really love the result. Looks like it would if Ford built it. Top notch!!! Sam
looks really good! Those lights are a pain to install. When I put "em in mine, I ended up making brackets to mount them, then trimmed it out with a 67 Shelby tail light panel I modified. Good job man!
I am doing the same thing at the moment. But was hoping I could find chrome to go around the lights. Do you know if they make chrome rings for around the lights at all?
