Just wanted to say hi to everyone and say a big thanks you for all the great info I found on here so far! Seems like a great forum. Seems a little more geared for the 70's, but thought you'd all like to get a glimpse of my newest barn find. 1963 comet convertible. 10 years sitting and what a mess! 5 gallons of fresh gas and she fired right up. Put 400 miles on with nothing more than a carb kit, one wheel cylinder, water pump and hoses. Plotting the restoration as I type.... Got a good laugh out of my son when I told him he had to wash it and vacuum out all the mouse poop.
Welcome! Be sure to check out Comet east car club, their news letter and articles are pretty good for Comets & Falcons.
Thanks guys! The pictures do really make it look better than it is. But, for an all original car with 59,000 miles, it makes a great driver for the summer. Lots of plans for it for this winter though. Need to do the front disc brake conversion of some sort, needs a rear window and carpet badly. Otherwise I can live with it for a while. Oh, and all for the low sum of $800 plus a tow truck home 35 miles.
