i just pulled mine off and repainted them. when i glassbeaded them , i found one had a tear in the stock spring plate. i pressed it back in position and repaired the tear. it wasn't the weld that broke it was the spring plate itself tearing... i'll have to keep an eye on it... ...Frank...
Awesome,im making a set also when i have the money,along w a pair of sfc,and a monte carlo bar.dang i need another welder asap.
Cal Tracs The front piece, on the real Cal Trac, is also on backwards. The bolt for the leaf spring goes towards the front. The roller on the front piece, pushes down on the leaf spring, when the front piece pivots on that front leaf spring bolt. I see two rollers or pins on your home made one. But I don't see a hole for the leaf spring bolt. To tell you the truth, both the front bracket and shock plate look like real Cal Trac parts. The front bracket looks like you added another roller to it. Only the bar looks different.
