Do you happen to know the dimensions (from outside edge of lip to outside edge of lip) of the Mustang drop in tank. I want to compare the size of it with the stock drop in tank in my 70. Thanks.

Got the tank in the GT. Works great, of course. The tank measurements are as follows:

    24 3/8" front to back
    32 5/8" side to side
    1 1/8" flange around it.

Thanks, Dennis. Unfortunatly the dimensions are not even close.

I knew they wouldnt be but it can still be modified to accept it. What are the Mav dimensions?

My measuring (this is not exact, but close) came up with:

    27 1/2" front to back
    24 3/4" side to side
    1 1/4" lip all around

Does anyone have a 1970 Mustang tank they could measure?

The 70 tank has a higher capicity so it is either deeper to increase capicity, or its bigger all around. I dont think it would be too hard to make it fit. Just move the passenger tank wall over about 8" inches and add some filler front to back.
