What models/engine combinations typically have the lower gear ratios (higher numerically) for the ford 8 inch? Where to look for 3.25 and up?

Look to the Mustang II's. I found a set of 3.55's in one at a local junkyard.

    Thanks!

Thank's for the info. Any particular models or engine combinations to look for? Do the 4 cylinder cars have 8 inch rears?

All 1974 Mustangs with a V-6 had the 3.55 8" rear pumpkin. This will bolt right into your Maverick 8" rear axle housing.

But the 1974 V-6 Mustangs would also be a 4-lug....so you wouldn't want to keep on walking past that.

Nope....8". That is where my last two 3.55 gears came from.
