Very true Jamie, a lot of the Grabbers I have had came with tinted glass and no a/c, not saying other Mavs and Comets didnt have it. Was just trying to make him aware of the fact.

my glass shop told me..."drilling is not an option."
i tried swapping the regs. i could not get them to interchange.
i have NOS door glass and couldn't use them because of the holes...
measure the holes and let me know the spacing you need and i will check and see if one of my new ones will fit.:yup:

OK. so this is what i did to make it work. first of all the comet window track had too small of a track for the wheels on my mav. so that being said i had to extend the maverick window track cutting and welding a piece of the comet track so the holes matched up. everything works excellent now, but going back and thinking.. after i fastened the window to the track, i realize i had forgotten to place some kind of soft spacer; so my glass is fastened to the bare metal track. this worries me.. should it be ok? getting those plastic clips off is not in the question. i should have done a tech how to article on this, since it worked out so well.. but i was caught up in the moment and anxious.

    Same problem here!

I just ran into the exact same problem! The driver's door glass in my 1971 Grabber was broken when I bought it. I picked up a nice clean piece of glass out another 2 door car, and just found it won't fit due to the hole spacing. No problem, I'll just use the shorter channel. Nope, that doesn't work either, as the regular wheels are too far out. Bogus! Why did Ford change this? Now I have a worthless piece of glass (at least to me). Makes me want to sell the Maverick and go back to working on my Cougars. Anyone want to trade a small hole spacing for large?
