Craig and I were wondering the other day about the bumper mounts on a Big-bumpered Comet: Couldn't the same mount be used universally on a Maverick if you used the two front holes instead of the two rear holes as on a Comet? Does anyone have a Maverick with a 4-hole mount? Here's a 2 hole Maverick mount:
Well the old brackets from when my car had 73 style bumpers look very similar, if not the same as the ones from the BIG bumper cars. Mine is a Maverick and has 4 holes like the Comet one in the pic. -Corbin
Hmmm.... ..I didn't know that there was a difference. I still don't understand what the difference is. I don't have a pic of the number of holes in mine. I used the bumper mounts from a '73 Maverick to do my '74-'73 bumper swap on my Comet. They bolted up easily. The bumper mounts from the '73 Maverick looked the same as the ones on my '74 Comet. I deleted the heavy piece that was 'inside' of the bumper. I hope that I don't hit anything, that bumper is pretty flimsy without the reinforcement. Seth
