Might be easier to get the rail (regulator) out of the junkyard door.

that was an option too, but i'd have to drill the rivets and all that crap; may have to though if the hole cannot be cut.

You're right, I forgot that some of them are riveted in. All of mine are bolted in. I just went out and looked at some of my spare doors and did find one with rivets. They are fairly easy to drill out at least. Knock out the center with a punch and drill with a 1/4" bit. They are aluminum so they drill pretty easy.

I'm thinking the '73's had rivets...or maybe some different color Mavericks had rivets.

Very unlikely. Your only hope would be to get your local glass shop to check their suppliers. The last time I bought a new glass was about 7 years ago but I did get one. Can't hurt to try them.

One more thing you need to look at when replacing the glass. A/c cars had tinted glass and non a/c glass was clear. As far as I know you cant buy new replacement glass for door windows. Measure the hole spacing in the channel that holds the glass in your car, I have some side windows of tinted and clear if they are the same.

i have the glass already but, the holes just dont match up...i know little about glass; so is adding the hole possible? my dad knows a glass guy that will probably do it free if it can be done.

I've never seen anyone try to drill tempered glass. It doesn't take much to shatter it. I'd have to leave that question to the glass guys.

Tinted glass was an option on all of them, not just ones with A/C. My '72 beater has the tinted glass with no A/C, and the Ford 999 report had it on there as an option.
