I am building Dave (MercuryCruizer) a new C4.
The one that is in his Comet has lost second gear due to some issues beyond my control. I am building the new one to take 500 HP and in strip and street form (just a bit more shift speed than his original. I am assuming that he will be racing it this year a few times. I want to get it ready for him to have it in the Heartbreaker before the Cruise to Colby. I have most of the mods made on all the parts and got the first two coats of yellow paint on the case. I will have it ready to install next weekend but here is the problem.....
Dave has a bumb shoulder and I have a bad back so we are going to need a couple of local guys to help install it.
If you have the weekend off - or even just one day of the weekend I am sure we can get it installed in no more than a few hours. Let me know who is available to give a hand - OK?
I am going to take the C4 that is in it now and build it for his other car that lost the transmission a while ago. That way he can have his other daily driver back on the road too!

Sorry for not clearing this with you Coop but that's how brothers are - like my deck rail... Surprise!

Paul and Coop ,if you cant find a local guy to help ,ill try to send my friend Chris(my Mechanic helper) down to put it in on my Dime .Chris is more than capable of putting it in by himself with four Jack stands and a hydraulic floor Jack in four hours ,that would be tranny in ,starter and header. I have to be out of town this Fri,Sat,Sunday and Chris works for me every Sat, so he might be willing to go down for a day to help you out.

Isn't that something! Funny how brothers work.... Can't wait to get both cars back on the road. Especially the 70 daily driver....

Jimmy, I'm all for doing it this Saturday. If that's Okay with your friend. I'll help the best I can. Can't wait to be able to slam second gear again. I'll provide the food & beverage. If he wants to spend the night, I'll put him up. If he decides to do it. Email me. I'll send you my cell number & address...

    The C4 is built!
I can probably deliver it friday night or Saturday morning.
Here are some pics if you need them.......

Now we just need to make sure that we will have someone to help install it.

I started at 9am this morning. PaulS showed up around 11am. I had alot of the pre stuff done (drop driveline, undo the top 4 bellhousing bolts, disconnect the speedo, disconnect the drop linkage, etc). Paul opened his shop manual & showed me where it said 4 hours to R & R the tranny. I'm thinking cool. I finally stopped @ 8:30pm. Was dark could'nt see anymore. I'll button her up tomorrow, when I get home from work. Not much left to do. Install starter, install trans cross member, & tranny coolant lines. Here's some pics: Enjoy!!!
