Im re-assembling my ground up resto gt and forgot how the power steering hoses go back on. I ran the lines over the center link bar is this correct? Im getting squeeking as I turn the wheel because the lines rub against the oil pan. Im guessing its wrong, are the lines supposed to go under the centerlink bar. Im talking about the 2 lines from the pump to the control valve.

Second question the body of the car originaly was for manual steering and the place the hydraulic ram mounts is missing the welded in nuts. What do you do for this?

Cant for many reasons. First Its a factory restoration down to the last nut and bolt, second wife wants power steering so its here to stay not to mention I have replaced just about everything for it and this is the last issue. The only reason the body doesnt have these nuts is because the original GT body was rusted beyond repair so I switched bodies for the resto.

Not sure it matters ,but what engine do you have? I don't think you'd be able to connect them to the control valve unless you went over top the center link, due to the bends in the tubing. So yes you should be over them. Do you have a fastener or clamp on the hoses at any point between the pump and valve? Are you sure that is what is causing the noise? Is everything greased up?

Do you have the correct power steering lines for the motor that is now in the car?

All the hoses should be correct because I matched them up to the original ones I replaced.

Yes Im using the brackets that hold the hoses.

Anyone have a photo around the control valve area?
