    Hello All,
My 64 has leaks on both sides of the winshield, at the post. It looks like the water from the roof is supposed to run down the post, behind the trim. But I am getting water in both sides about half way down the post. I guess I'll have to pull the trim. But I don't know exactly where the water is supposed to flow. I need to know this to fix the leaks. Does anyone know?
    Thank You,
    Al

It sounds like you have a bad cowl, rusted out and its leaking into your floorboard.

Might check out a comet site for the year you have for better information on these cars. This site is mainly for the Comets that are the same body style as the mavericks. We will be more than welcome to help you as much as we can however!

It's not the Cowl. That has been replaced. I can see the water running out of the post with the door open. I took the inside post crome off. I'll have to figure out how to get the outside crome off and take a look at the post.

Sounds like you need a new windshield gasket, or have some rust behind the gasket. I had a '64 Falcon with that same problem. You should be able to get a gasket at AutoKrafters.com, or maybe a Ford dealer (I got mine there some years ago), or check a Falcon/Comet (pre-71) site and see where to get the gasket. Try YearOne.com also. Good luck!
