Went to a local cruise-in tonight hosted by the Derby City Mustang Club. Nice show that had well over 150 cars. Nice weather and great people. I met with Jason, a maverick owner that I met last year when (Jim) coutangman came to town. Jerry, Mike and I went to a show and met him.... anyways he has a very nice big bumper car with a few little "twist".....sweet stance! Here are some pics of his car. *on a side note* Not knowing this was kinda a judged cruise-in, they have 1 class: "CRUISE FAVORITE" Next month, PINKY is invited back to recieve a trophy and a VIP parking spot. During the show the DJ will "talk" about the car periodically during the cruise.
Noah went with me, he was not used to the "paper droppers" We were sitting behind the car, chatting with people and enjoying ice cold cola on a sweet, breezy evening; every time someone would drop a paper in the car, he would shake his head, get up and get the paper out of the car Too funny!
almost forgot.....tonight was my first time driving PINKY at night with the lights on. Everything worked and I never smelled anything It was weird though.....but cool.
Wow, those seats look just like Zaxby's booth seats! You have to live down here to know what Zaxby's is....best wing resturant around! Nice color too. And it sounds like Pinky has street manners now! Sounds like a good time
John congrats!!!!! That yellow mav is sweet too.... Those seats are very creative and look awesome!!!!!!!!
congrats on the invite.. that yellow mav is nice, but if I keep seeing big bumper mavs looking that good I will never scrap mine out...
John, Glad to see you guys had a break in your weather after the winter you have had. Looks like Pinky has come a long way since last year. Was the cruise the one held at Hike's Point? I understand it is a good cruise. Congrats on the award. I plan on being back up in Louisville the 3rd weekend in August for the All Ford show hosted by the Kentuckiana Classic Clougar Club, of which I am a member. The date is August 15th. It will be held at the Masonic Home on Frankfort Ave. Last year's show had over 100 cars, including a gold Comet GT and at least one Maverick. Put it on your calender. Maybe they will also have the cruise in Jeffersonville on Friday and we can meet up there, too. If there is enough interest, I can probably get them to have a separate Mav/Comet class. Let me know. Again, congrats! Jim
Yes Jim, it was the Hikes Point cruise. Very nice show. I will mark my calendar for that weekend in August. Not sure how much interest you would need? There is a few maverick/comets coming out locally (like Jason) and I hope to continue to stir interest and get a "group" that can meet-up and hangout on a regular basis. And of course there is Mike, Jerry and Ward. Thanks again everyone.
