Got my floor shift steering coloumn in today and started working on the brake lines. Got the clutch and brake pedal installed too. Taking this entire week off from work to try to get the 302 in and running by next weekend. Just need that late model gas pedal or early mode V8 throttle cable. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7407
Replaced the original Master Cylinder with a Power Unit and Proportining valve for the front discs. My adjustable Push Rod should be here next week so my Brake Pedal lines up with my Clutch pedal ..
Haha ... thanks. Hard to beleive all of our cars looked this way 30 some odd years ago when they were driven out of the dealers lot ...
dmhines, Any chance you could post more pics of that engine compartment? It's a work of art, and your photography is top drawer too. These pics are a great refence for those of us working up to that stage. Thanks for considering this request. John B.
Push Rod ... http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/aspfiles/default_frame.asp?UID=2004032908455442 More expensive but looks better than shims on the firewall. I'll post pics as I make more progress ... THanks ..
Well - spent most of today FIGHTING with the Just Right Detailing lines I bought over a year ago. The brake lines fit pretty decent but not like factory. The GAS line was missing a sharp turn where it wraps around the frame in the rear - of course I collapsed it using the wrong type of bender so painted the originaly and put it back in. The vapor line was totally unusable. The end near the tank was correct but the engine compartment side was completely and totally wrong. And I screwed up my old one getting it out so I was scrambling. Local shop tried to bend me a new one but one of the bends is large and he couldn't do it. I ended up have to cut the engine compartment side out of the parts car and join it using a coupler to the original line from the bellhousing area back. Hopefully it doesn't look to bad next to the stainless brake lines. Got the ADDCO front 7/8 inch stabalizer bar in and the V8 crossmember. Also the adjustable brake rod came and I was able to match the brake and clutch pedal no problem using the power/disc master cylinder. Raining now so had to push everything back in the garage. Should have the brakes working tomorrow ...
