    Hi
I am looking at importing a 72 2 door Maverick in to Australia, I have been told that there is only about 5 of them over here. What my question is, is there much old new stock around or is there much repo parts available?
Is there a book (manual) or web sit I can get all of the 72 Mavericks spec's, such as Chasse, Suspension, ect?
How much would I expect to pay for a good rolling shell to fully restored to street rod style?
I just think the early 2 door mavericks look so FAT!

Good luck on finding repro parts. Not many at all. You can get a good driver here on the left coast for under $2500. Then if it's a 200 or 250 six cyl, you can use your Falcon Auzzi engine parts to get it to go fast. If it's a V8, then you will do fine with the windsor stuff you have as well.

Check out the home page for this site and the other Maverick sites.

If you come up to So.Cal. let me know and we can help you out

While we hate to lose any Mavs here, it'd be cool to have some 'down under'. There are ways to get much of what you need right here through us. You can check out my website also and contact me anytime. Shop manuals and Chilton's can still be gotten, old stock, for these cars. I prefer the factory shop manuals, myself. They have much more info to help you with whatever the problem or project may be. If you want a set, I have a supplier that gets shop manuals for me and has found pretty much everything I've looked for.

That is right about reproduction items. While Mustang and T-Bird repop items abound, there is little for Mavs outside of what Auto Krafters offers. Fortunately, there is still a reasonable supply of used parts around, for a while anyway, and new parts such as brake parts, suspension, drivetrain, cooling, etc. can still be obtained pretty easily.

Feel free to e-mail me any time and I'll help as I can. We all are here for you.

    No worries, mate!

Check with your government before importing anything. They used to be really strict, with high tariffs, and required a conversion to right hand drive. Don't know if it is still that way, but do some reseacrh on your laws before setting your hopes too high.

Thanks guys for your info .
Hotrodbob, your right, I already have a V8 to put in, it's a warm 351 Cleveland (if it will fit) do any of you know of any Mav's that have had a Clevo installed?
Wes, I had a look at your website, your business could be useful, How much would a good shop manual & postage to Melbourne(Croydon), Victoria, Australia set me back?
Maxpower, Vic state law has changed "for the better" if you are importing a car over 30 years old you don't have to convert it to right hand drive "I most likely will though" and also if it is over 30 years old there is no import duty on the car.

There are a few guys on this site that have done this. Best to post another question requesting that info. I'm an Inline 6 guy and don't have all the info on the V8 stuff.

If ya need help when you get up here, the offer still stands.
