Not sure about backspacing but if your car is 5 lug it should be 114.3 lug spacing on the rims for them to fit.

what would be a good back spacing for an 8" wide rim on the rear of a maverick with a stock four or five lug 8" rear end? to clear everything with a fairly big tire?

4" is the safest you can go, 4.25" and the tires might rub either with the fender lip, or the frame.

I have 15 x 8 with 5.25 back space Center Line's on the rear...but the tires are 215x60. I had to cut the lip off the axle bumper mount where it stuck out past the frame rail. I haven't notice them flexing and hitting when in the curves yet. But I haven't took a curve aggressively yet.

Mine are 4.25 bs, and I think yours will work, but you will be limited with what rubber you can stick on em.

Here are mine with 255/60s. On 15" rim.

I dont see how they wouldnt fit? Mavman's web site says he has used 3inch and 4 inch back space with no probs. The wheels im getting are 15x8 3 3/4 backspace. I have a 15x8 with 225 70 15's on now and those are 1 once taller and 9 inch wide. the 255/60's are 10 inch wide should bolt right up no probs

They will bolt on no problem. But when you start slapping big rubber on there, you will start rubbing on stuff pretty quick. But I think they WILL work as long as you stick with small tires.

thanks for the info, I'm still waiting just to have a garage(LOL), my car is either in storage or at a friends house in his heated, a/c and carpeted garage for the winter. luckily I have access to a full shop with two lifts and all the tools when its time to work on it. still I would rather have my own space.
