Visited a new strip yesterday in Elderidge, Al. Very nice place. For those interested the website is named I22 Motorsports. All concrete 1/8 mile to be expanded to a 1/4 later. Saw 3 Mavs while I was there but had to leave early. A friend that stayed longer said 3 more showed up. MAV CITY, lol. Jerry
Yeah, from what I've seen of it, it's a nice place. Was planning on being up there yesterday myself with a buddy and his Camaro, but he had to work. I hope to take mine up there and make a few runs sometime. Jerry, it's only 23 miles from my house, ya oughta have just come on down! Maybe we can get together up there one weekend.
Hey Bobby, yep, was looking on the map and saw that it wasn't far from Berry. I'll wait 'til they get some rubber on the track before I run there although it "Hooked" well yesterday.
I hope you know how lucky you are to have a dragstrip 23 miles from home. Here in Connecticut, I have to travel at least a 100 miles to Lebanon Valley in New York, or Englishtown in New Jersey. Another track is a 2 1/2 hour ride to New England Dragway in New Hampshire.
Dang, got me excited for a minute till I checked the map. It's 302 miles for me. Guess I better stick to the Mobile track. I'll be racing in the Armdrop Live this coming weekend. There is one more Maverick registered. There are 200 cars all together. Should be fun. I made two passes Friday night, smoked the tires 1st pass, 7.07 on the second pass. Can't wait till the weekend.
does anyone know the rules to run footbreak. I would like to take the TR7 up there after I get it dialed in at bama but I doubt it'll pass tech is they are strict
You better recheck that mileage, Ray. I wouldn't think it would be much over 200 miles up there..... EDIT: Got it down to 271 miles, further than I thought....http://maps.google.com/ I read on their website they were mostly going to use the ORSCA rules. Go to the ORSCA website and you'll see how tough they are, almost carbon copy of the NHRA rules. That will keep a lot of guys from running there, like the ones used to the more slack rules at Bama and Winston County.....
I looked them up and there is no way half of the bracket cars around here will pass. It says you must have a neutral safety switch, firesuit, and working headlights and taillights just to pass. All the bracket cars I've seen have the power switch and the starter button. With all the rules they have I don't see them getting many cars to show
I don't have a firesuit, my N/S switch isn't hooked up [yet], so I don't figure I'll be running there, either. Probably just take mine over to Bama to get some track time...
