I hate asking a dumb question but where can I find a fuel shutoff solenoid for a 72 Maverick with a 302. I tried Auto Zone and NAPA where else can I turn or do I need to go in a different direction?

ive never heard of a fuel shut off solenoid. diesels shut off by turning off the fuel and i suspose that they would use one. why do you want one?

Never heard of anything like that on a Maverick. Can you post a picture of the old one or explain where it is located?

How about an oil pressure switch - if it is an electric pump.

The old carburetor PROPANE systems had a fuel shut off solenoid. I dont know where you could get one though, Might try a google search for propane system.

Sorry I screwed that up, I meant to ask for a fast idle solenoid.

Are you talking about the anti-diesel solenoid on the carb? Its a solenoid they used to use for idle. On shut off the solenoid closes the throttle blades below idle to prevent run on (dieseling). At least thats how I remember it. Long time ago.
