Too much switch for an air/fuel LED gauge from autometer.

I got an autometer AF gauge that is powered to a max of 1 volt when all led lights are on. I put O2 sensors in each header collecter and attached them to a on-off-on switch rated at 16 amps. Is this too much of a switch for an accurate reading. By having the switch I can take readings at each header. What do you think?

 

I guess it all depends upon how the O2 sensors work, do they work on resistance? if the switch has resistance, it could throw off the reading?

 

it has a one wire O2 sensor. does that help?

 

that switch should not mater. o2 sensors work by generating volage by measuring the oxygen difference in the exhast from the oxygen in the atomsphier. a one wire o2 will take a few min to start working. it has to heat up. 3 or 4 wire o2s have a internal heater that heats them up fast and keeps them at temp. the one wire can even cool off at idle.

Whats the idea behind monitoring the 02 sensors?? Are you trying to use them to tune the car??

 

i would recomend going to a wideband o2 sensor for tuning. the o2s that you have dont have a broad range of accuracy. i belive that they read between 13.5 to 15 pretty well but not much richer. it will help you tune for fuel economy at cruise and set your idle mixture but not any help with tuning for power.
