Some may know I spent this winter getting her converted "back" to the street. She has not seen street duty since 1972. She was converted to a drag car way back when. Well I took her on an interstate cruise this weekend and decided to drive her to work today.
Love it! Race car look with streetable (somewhat?) manners!! I drive mine to work often. I get a lot of looks getting out of the car with my suit on! Great Job John
looks like you were there real early or real late... Pinky is looking sharp...too bad you can't see all the work you did... but i know... i'll see you in the streets... ......
I`ve followed along on the "resurection of Pinky" and you`ve done some Nice work! Can`t wait to check it in person!
John, Pinky looks just as kick ass now than it did as a race car. What numbers do you think it will turn now?
its more fun driving it on the street than sitting for hours and driving it for ten sec. at the track drive it like you stole it but dont brake it brad
I have no idea what it will run Nick. But I am sure I could get an 11 if I tried real hard Here is a short list of things I done this winter: 1) new floors. 2) wired (not re-wired ) the car for lights, turn signals, brake lights, wipers and radio. (thanks Frank for the harness) 3) All new interior- seats, carpet, insulation/deadner,door panels, arm rest, radio, gauges and package tray (thanks Ward for the tray) 4) RUST BULLET the undercarriage. 5) Rear gears (thanks Chuck Barnes) 6) fixed, welded and cleaned (and repeat) the engine bay. 7) and street tires (thanks Ward) *there is a ton of other stuff that went along with this project. ** and a bunch of help from the maverick/comet family, whether it was donating parts, selling me parts or giving tech advice through PM's and phone calls.
Frank it was after work. and on a side note: Ward and I have been tossing around ideas on a new paint scheme for PINKY. Might be as soon as 2010.
That interior looks killer.............good work. Maybe you could make mine look that nice on the inside.................lol
