Upper/lower quarter extensions, bumper, mounts from a small bumper Mav/Comet. Bumper brace for the inside trunk area (I used 69-70 Mustang brace). Drill and drill bits. Weld up the old holes from the 74 quarter extensions. Tape measurer. Pencil. See http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/maverick_4.html
Thanks Matterick. Kmurray337-- Forgot to say you will also need the rear valance to complete the swap. You need to drill new holes to fit the panel
No...Look at this picture and you can see the old holes do not align up in the correct spot http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/mav_2962.jpg When you lay the Mustang brace on the trunk floor...mark the spot to drill the bumper mount holes. You need to first measurer to find the center of the bumper and measure to find the center of the rear panel. Then measure from center of the bumper to the bracket to know where to weld the brace in the trunk floor
Ok. where do i get these brackets? or is it just worth making my own? Im also wondering what kind of rear quarter exstensions do i need? Or will the ones off my 74 comet work?
after 1973 the quarter extensions became really long so i'm pretty sure you have to change them. thats one of the reasons it takes alot more work to put on a Grabber Spoiler on the 74 and up cars
You should do a search, and you'll find all the answers you need. Or goto www.fordmaverick.com, click on the "mechanical" tab, then click on the "exterior" tab, expand that, and click on "Convert Big Bumpers To Small"
