A 460 in maverick now that i would love to see, does anyone have any pictures of one stuffed in a Maverick or a Comet?
If you want to stay with the stock engine compartment you can put a 351W in with no mods. However your limited by the headers and the fact that it will be heck to change the plugs. My opinion is a 302 stroked to 347 would be the bast. If you're willing to go the Mustang ll front end route than whatever you want.
The bigger your wallet, the bigger the engine. If you leave the engine bay stock and stroke a 351w or 351c, then roughly 408 cubes.
Why go bigblock when you can get all the cubes you want from a 351w with less weight. If you have the cash I would say an after market 351w block so you can push in the 440CI range, and a set of 4 valve per cylinder heads.
Plastic Fantastic Maverick drag car. Alcohol injected Boss 429 Stroked to 494 cubic inches and hooked to a Powerglide with an 8 3/4 Chrysler Rear.
Because smallblocks are boring no wow factor like seeing tower to tower engine.I don't even open the hood on mine at shows anymore, just another smallblock. Heres one http://inlinethumb10.webshots.com/20233/1202413513038079276S200x200Q85.jpg And here
