biggest engine 70 maverick

    What is the biggest engine you can put in a 70 maverick? 428? 460? thanks,Ed

    70 mav, 71 grabber, 73 Comet, 2004 f-250 crew cab diesel, 2001 f-250, 2004 explorer, 2007 Gold Wing trike.
    If you want to stay with the stock engine compartment you can put a 351W in with no mods. However your limited by the headers and the fact that it will be heck to change the plugs. My opinion is a 302 stroked to 347 would be the bast. If you're willing to go the Mustang ll front end route than whatever you want.:)

    The bigger your wallet, the bigger the engine.

    If you leave the engine bay stock and stroke a 351w or 351c, then roughly 408 cubes.

    Why go bigblock when you can get all the cubes you want from a 351w with less weight.

    If you have the cash I would say an after market 351w block so you can push in the 440CI range, and a set of 4 valve per cylinder heads.

    Because smallblocks are boring no wow factor like seeing tower to tower engine.I don't even open the hood on mine at shows anymore,just another smallblock.
