This reminds me of my first car, a Pontiac Ventura(Nova clone). I was 14. I just had to have these 60's rear tires  so I used shackles, air shocks, and shock extenders. Before I started the bottom of the rear bumper was 16" off the ground, when I was done I got 36" from the bumper to the ground. There was not enough head light adjustment to even see the lights shine on the road at night. The car never did made it on the road(legaly). After I did all that my dad found the rear frame was rusted out that he wouldn't let me drive it.(thanks Dad!) Oh the things we do when we're young:rolleyes: Russ

oh well, I may just have to keep mine like it is for a while. looks like it would cost a good bit to change back to stock.

ok, but I thought that shackles weren't stock and that I should get rid of the shackles.

Shackles are what connects the springs to the frame. The ones on your car are extra long shackles or extended shackles. The stock ones are much shorter and don't put as much stress on the frame. Russ

    Max....

...I looked everywhere that they may have been stashed
    today.
I could not find the stock shackles that I removed from a
parts car. I probably tossed them last year.

    I am sorry.
