how many here thinks its a good idea to reproduce the v8 engine side ball stud? i know many here says that theyre very hard to find and theres no reproduction available.
i have made contact with a friend that currently work with a metal manufacturing company that makes all type of studs and he forwarded my inquire to his boss about making reproduction of the v8 ball stud with the same specs and metal material. the reply i got back is to order minimum of 200 copies to proceed with the manufacturing.
the thing is i want to know if this is worth doing for the maverick community and is this worth doing at all... because its gonna cost me a couple of my paycheck which is out of my pocket and i really wanna do this for us. is there a lot of demand to do this reproduction?

I seem to recall somebody on ebay selling a reproduction of these.

Otherwise........honestly.....I don't see you selling 200 of these ever. Yeah....there is demand.....but not THAT much demand. But hey....I could be wrong.

I bought one on Ebay from a fellow in Canada who was reproducing them. Can't remember for sure, but I think it was $30 including shipping.

someone could make those pretty easily with a small lathe. You can case harden them at home too.

Wouldn't be too tough with the right equiptment

Yes, I seem to remember them being listed at around $30-$35 for the repops but haven't seen them in a while.

a fellow board member also had some repro's for sale as well. and as an affordable alternative, one can use a mustang version of it thta has the plastic bushings.... i agree with Craig, if you have 200 i'd say you'll have a few yrs in selling them all off. good luck :)

200? Man, there isn't 200 standard shift Mavericks/Comets running around, let alone considering how cheap 90% of the owners are.

Somebody here on the board had about a 1/2 dozen made .. not sure if he was selling them ... don't waste you money on getting 200 made ...
