I WOULD APPRECIATE ANYONE INPUT ON MY EXHAUST. SHOULD I HAVE THE EXHAUST TO THE REAR OR DUMP BEHIND MY REAR AXLE?????????THEY BOTH HAVE GOOD SOUND.. I CAN'T DECIDE..
In my opinion, exiting exhaust under a car is not a good thing, especially with turn downs. First of all exhaust gases can enter your car. Second of all, they kick up a cloud of dust, especially when not on pavement. If you ever have to follow one of these dust tornadoes you'll be cussing them out.
turndowns I had dumps at the rear axle on mine for a while and about 5 minutes of driving is all it takes to get sick of them. Exit the exhaust outside the car definately. Straight back is the best. THen it's not so loud in the drivers seat or to someone next to your car, but they will hear you driving away for sure.
These guys summed it up pretty good. The sound with dumps, unless you are 16 and enjoy that (nothing wrong with that though) can honestly be ear damaging. The reverberation from the exhaust off the ground and into the passenger cabin can be way too loud. I have dumps right now, and it sounds like bass cannons. I have been thinking an up and over the axle setup would suit me better, and I have been considering putting 2 1/2 inch fox body mustang tips out the back.
I WAS THINKING SOMETHING TO THAT FASHION. I'D LIKE TO BEABLE TO HAVE THE TAILPIPES ON EACH REAR SIDE. LIKE THE STANGS. RIGHT NOW THEY ARE KIND OF CENTERED. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INPUT, AND THANKS FOR REMINDING ME OF WHY I WAS GOING TO KEEP THE PIPES TO THE BACK.... OF COURSE I HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE IF MY FLOW TECH HEADERS ARE GOING TO FIT... I WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE THEM TODAY, BUT I'LL HAVE THEM BY THURSDAY.... I BE CROSSING MY FINGERS... THAT THEY WILL FIT.. again sorry about the caps being on...
