I need some feedback from you guys and gals! Here are the plans for the body work on my maverick- hopefully to be starting sometime veeeeerrrrrry soon. I'd like to know what you guys think, because I think a lot of your comments and opinions. Here's what I'm thinking.

Strip car to bare metal and paint it Metallic Black
Install my 4 inch cowl scoop (paint it M. Black too)
Black out the rear window and quarter windows
Tint the front windows as dark as is legal and have ghost flames etched in the side and quarter windows.......
Raise the rear end just a bit...
And install 17" wheels and tires

Now be honest and tell me what you folks think........
Oh, and these are the wheels-

    Thanks everyone!! Preston

    Preston.

    Two things about those wheels....
Unless you have some really nice looking brakes those wheels will look really out of place.
The other thing is do they make those in the right offset for a Maverick?
Just my opinion. I like your ideas about the body work. Can't wait to see it!

That all sounds like it would look really good. If you could make those rims work, those would look hot on a Mav. Defintely like the rims. I agree with the brake part though, if the brakes behind the wheels aren't clean and nice, it would ruin the looks of them.

On the trim- I will be pulling the trim off that runs down the side of the car (LDO) I will replace the trim around the front and rear glass with new chrome. Everything will be rechromed. As for my grill, I can't decide what to do about it.........Any ideas?? Thanks everybody!! Country

sounds good to me too...just one thing. if your body man (or you if you are gonne do the body work) does porsche perfect work, the black will look GREAT! from what i have seen though, high gloss black really shows off less than perfect body work. just my .02 i have seen many NEW cars with in black that look kinda ripply (is that a word?) and wavy. if the sheet metal is gonna be that straight....SEND PICTURES! it's gonna look awesome.

I can tell you that some of that trim is anodized aluminum, I know the stuff around the rear window is. I'm guessing the windshield trim is too. Would you want to rechrome that or would you just clean it up a little bit and reanodize it?

I just put similar wheels on my 2002 Expedition ...

    18 inchers with 275/65-R18 Michelins ...

    About the Maverick Trim ..

From what I have found is you can polish all of it with a polishing wheel so it is either chrome or stainless.

The Chrome strip on the Hood lip however is anodized aluminum and will not polish unless you sand all of the anodization off first ...

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
well sounds like how i would do the car. got for it! :D

just two things i do differant.. i'd drop the rearend ;)

and as far as the rims, i really don't think they fit the car. just so you know those wheels are heavy and also are made overseas.. how do i know? well ACE (who makes the wheel aka Kanei) is one of my accounts and for the price you will pay for them you could get a much better wheel! i could lie to you and tell you to buy them and give my customer more business which in turn would give me more business, however my maverick loyalty is greater and i can't see you with those on a maverick. just so you know those wheels cost about $75 to $80 bucks each whse. i have seen them retail on the high side for $280.00 each! i also don't think they have your offset. personally that wheels mosty for tuner cars i think you could pick up some nice centerlines for cheaper!

just so you know i had ACE wheels on my other car... i would have rather had centerlines on them however they were free so i couldn't complain! see below picutres (they were ACE wheels as well)

just my 2cents though.. you do what makes you happy!

I think the North American Seal migration is going to slow down now that global warming is melting the ice caps.

Country,, Sounds like a really cool plan for the car. I like the whole concept. That should make for one attention getting car.

Now for you Mavaholic,,,, those seals migrating at a slower pace is only due to the fact that ozone has been depleted, hence melting the ice caps, hence making more water, hence having less land, hence less land = more crowded land, and I dont know of any seal that would want to live with me.
