Im looking to put new seats in my 74 maverick 2dr, i'm mostly going for easy and affordable. Just wondering if there was any suggestions on which seats are easiest to fit....can be from any car, doesn't necessarily have to be pretty
    Thanks for any help =)

95-99 cavalier buckets have flat mounting brackets and a far slider so they work well with little fabrication on spacers...

i bought some from summitracing for 159.99 each procar by scat they work ok, still had to make spacers and i altered the mounting brackets, but they are so wide, you only have about 6" if you were to slide them up before they hit the arm rest on the doors.

there are quite a few other cars that you can make fit, but you may have to make some spacers, alter sliders, etc... im sure someone else can enlighten more.

Watch out, around 74 our cars got cat converter humps on the passenger side floorpan. Big difference from a 72 pan, where nearly any seat or track is possible.
If you have a huge hump in the floor on the right side, you will have some headaches installing custom seats without using the stock seat tracks for cat equipped cars.

I am not sure your 74 will have the hump, but if it does, you will need to know to look for stock tracks. Then you can drill and bolt them to about any seat you want and get them in your car.

Also, a word of advice if you don't use stock tracks... Make sure to either use the stock reinforced mounting holes, or make sure to reinforce your own custom mounting holes. The floorpan is super thin steel and won't keep you and the seat anchored in a wreck if you don't do some mods to it.

    Good luck
    Dave

Luckily I don't have the hump for the catalytic converter, and i noticed that they had to use some pretty heavy reinforcement under the car for the bolts. I'd hate not to reinforce it well enough or have it rust through...
