Hey guys, Yesterday I was doing the junkyard crawl and I came across a Mustang II. Low and behold it had the coveted sport steering wheel (with the horn in it) in good shape. It looked like someone had tried to get the horn portion off and broke the switch itself. I tried to get the wheel off and after two hours gave up. (Didn't have a puller with me.) Here is my question...it's an hour from home. I know that I can get it with my puller in hand. I can go back and pick it up for cheap, but is it worth the effort? I've already got one on my car and I would just be buying it to make a few bucks. What's your opinion?
Nah. It's probably not worth anything. BUT, you could go back and get it and give it to some poor Maverick guy the next time you go to Firebird. J/K
It's worth it, go get it! We had a '78 Mustang II hatchback, loaded with that steering wheel. Someone thought it was worth it. The car was stolen never to be seen again! We had only 3 payments left to go. It still makes me mad! We bought an Escort.
if the steering wheel is in great condition, then I will by it . ship via Don in July if he doesn't mind.
Wish I was bringing you a Grabber hood. But I never heard from that guy and he hasn't even been back here to say if he still had it or not.
Don't want to hyjack this thread but I wondered what happened to him also. Musta fell off the planet I guess. Oh well
If it's too good to be true...then it must not be! I was suspicious of the $100 grabber hood. But on the other hand...SCORE! I got the wheel today, it was still there and with the proper tools only took 15 minutes to get it off. That same car had the original buckets in it also. Do you think there are any value to them? I was thinking that they might fit the Maverick but I wasn't sure. They do need re-covered though.
Did you make sure to get the sports mirrors off of it too? They would look great on someones Maverick
