Warren Johnson and Kurt may not be racing this year. http://www.competitionplus.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8900&Itemid=6 Seems like lots of pro teams are lacking sponsorship this year.
Sad to hear, but they made the big bigs long enough maybe they can stick it out a little better than some of other people not working
The last one of those races i went to, the tickets were 45 per head, But what really took the cake was, 95 + degree tempture with no shade and they turn off the water fountains so you would have to buy the $ 3.00+ bottle water. Havent been back. And aint going.
This would be a great opportunity for Warren to retire (again) from racing and concentrate on development while they campaign a car with Kurt driving. I wonder how deeply the economy will impact professional athletes and sports teams. Buick already severed the deal with Tiger Woods. How many people will still have the means to buy their season tickets?
right on but i don't feel bad for him... he's an ahole. always making people stage before him cuz what..? he's god or something? also his horrible additude towards pro import RWD guys when those cars are just as fast as pro stock. serves him right! however the nicest guy i have ever met in NHRA was bob glidden!
I agree with Bob Glidden being the nicest. My uncle bought Glidden's Pro Stock Plymouth Arrow in the 80's, went to Whiteland, IN to pick it up, met with billy, bob, etna all were very nice and polite. I was on the crew at the races, Bob was always so easy to talk to. Some of the guys who thought they the it were not so nice. Lee Shepard, Frank Iacona, were all very helpful also.
Warren may have his operation in Georgia, but he's from Minnesota. Do not confuse him with a Southern Gentlemen. Down here, he is referred to as a Damn Yankee.
I am also a BIG FORD Fan. But warren has the most pro stock wins ever at 96. Warren Johnson will be racing in 2009 K&N filters is his sponsor this year. There is a article on nhra.com.
