My car has the 200i6. The people I got the car from put a bigger carbeuretor on it. Its still a 1brl, but its bigger around in diameter and a couple inches taller. They put one of those CHEESEY 3inch chrome breathers on it. Its driving me crazy. I want a regular sized air cleaner. Anyone know a company that I might be able to order one through. Mine is a Holley rebuilt Carter. Ive looked at Autozone and Oreillys and no luck there. Thanx,
    chuck

I found a Holley Brand at Advanced Auto. Mine's a 200 six also with a Holley rebuild. I had to fabricate a collar for the carb to make the air cleaner work though was really pretty easy to do if you've got some flat metal stock to work with.

    Sounds like a Carter RBS.
My son took the Holley 1945 off his 200 and put on an RBS.
The stock air cleaner still fit, even though the carb was bigger and taller.
The RBS is awesome! I'm glad he got rid of that crappy stock Holley.

It's funny, if we were talking about AFB vs 4150/4160, my words would be totally opposite! However, I must admit, when it comes to 1v carbs, Carter wins over Holley.

RBS is just the model name it is not a ford exclusive it is a carter name. They used the same carb on alot more of the AMC inline sixes in the late 60's early 70's then the fords, they were usually found on the 232 sixes.

Kind of shifting the subject a little bit by chance have any of you guys tried the Weber 2bbl progressive carbs on your sixes? They are popular on alot of 4 cyl motor like the 22r toyotas or the 4.2l AMC's.

The progressive 2v carbs work great on the 4.2's
