The great members of this message board were a great comfort to me on this day in 2004. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 was the day we almost lost my youngest daughter. The great friends and the words you had to say, through this forum that day and the next three, were a real help to me and my family. Those of you who were members then and said prayers and expressed good wishes will be remembered and appreciated by me for as long as I remember December 23, 2004.

Use this day to learn about Type 1 diabetes. It is a potential killer and very treatable. Researchers no longer call it a hereditary disease. It hits and misses. We know families hat have two kids and both have Type 1 and we know of families that have over 15 kids and no one has Type 1. Learn the warning signs. We knew them, but a dumb pediatrician told us we were wrong.

    Here's the warning signs:

It will change a child's life forever...or take it away. Watch your kids and smell their breath.

Merry Christmas to the greatest internet family!!!!!!

Glad prayers were answered! Power of prayers can't be beat.

Prayers out to all Parents and Children! Christmas and every other day seeing a child smile is a great reminder

    Terry,

I too remember that day. I am glad all is OK for her now. No matter what we do through life, our children are the biggest legacy we leave behind when we part this earth. Nothing brings me greater satisfaction than to see a smile on a kids face and know that something I did brought that smile to their face.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I hope it brings your family happiness and joy! You yourself have been good to me at times even though you may have not realized. Thank you!

I got to meet this wonderful child after that. Terry, you were truly blessed. Hug her every day, for you never know when they will be gone forever.

Bobby, I remember your loss and though I could relate real close, I still didn't know your pain. You were a great example to us in how to handle that situation. That is something that you will never ever really get used to because you are not supposed to bury your children; they are supposed to bury you. God bless you Bobby and Merry Christmas.
