If you're running only the water pump and alternator off the belt, you don't need a reverse rotation water pump if you run a set up that has the belt just route around like the original V belt did. . I know there are several people on here running serpentine belts on their cars.

I used the pulleys off an '85 Grand Marquis and had to use an 3/8" spacer on the crank to make it all work correctly.

You cant see mine real well but I have a setup out of a 79 Ford LTD and it works great! The belt runs the water pump, power steering pump and alternator. Plus it all uses a new style power steering pump (the little ones).

have you had any problems using the new style ps pump? do they use the same pressure as the stock mav ones?

It's also for a standard rotation water pump.

I used a March pulley set. I also had to make a 3/8" spacer for the crank pulley to line up. I think it may have had more to do with the after market balancer than the pulley though.

if you have a reverse water pump and just an alt. you can just run a belt from the crank pully to the alt using pullies from 87 to 93 mustangs NON OVERDRIVES. the belt will run across the water pump turning it the correct way.

You may be able to change the pulleys out, thats what I was going to do but the older pumps are WAY too big to fit in place of the newer pumps.

I'm not sure on the pressure (the whole engine/trans if from a 79 LTD) but I know it works fine. I did however run into a problem with the hose ends being different. The threads were a little different and one hose goes into the side of the pump where as the older hoses go into the back of the pump.
Yeah but its not a problem at all, just extend the alternator wired by around a foot or foot and a half and it uses the same style connector (at least in my case).
