Think about this, We do not have to worry about a yearly body design change making our cars worth less, nor do we have to worry about depression of our cars. Remember to buy your wife a nice Mavrick part for Xmas. Ho Ho Texasjack Today is Pearl Harbor Day, remember those brave souls who gave their lives for our country.
I have friends with pretty fancy cars and I see them all excited when they get them and then all depressed just a couple years later because they changed the body style. I love the look of the maverick and the fact that it's only become better looking because it'll look more "classic".
What's not to love about driving a Maverick? It turns more heads and gets more positive attention than most cars worth ten times as much. A brand new Corvette wouldn't get a second look parked next to a clean Maverick, it's just not something you see every day.
Simple, Maverick makes you a maverick. It turns heads, it can be economical, or it can be fast. (Depends on what you do with yours) It makes you different, and stand out. That is why you should drive a Maverick/Comet.
Good reasons for driving a Maverick, Comet GT Facelessnumber said it all most young kids driving today wernt even born when the last one was made. I wish like hell I would have kept my 72 Comet GT but my 74 Maverick Grabber Clone keeps me sain for now, I still plan on getting a 2dr Comet or Comet Gt Clone.
heck, I wasnt born till 14 years after the last american maverick, and I'm obsessed. And mines nothing special as far as mavs. just a 200 2-door 77 blue. Yet its amazing how good it looks in its simplicity. I LOVE MY MAVERICK!!
I was born 10 years after the last one was built in the U.S. Does it count if you were almost born in one of these cars? A little longer and I would have been born in my dad's old '71 Comet GT. and it was of course the car I was brought home from the hospital in as a new born. I currently drive a '92 Nissan Sentra back and forth to work every day, and it's not a bad little car for an old beater econobox. But every time I get back in the '72, it just reminds me all over again why I love these cars.
I think you mean Car Has Excessive Vibrations Running On Level Even Terrain ..But I still like 'em. Mopars too.
I agree, my '71 Comet was 12 years old when I was born(I didn't have it at this time though). Back in April of 2008 when I bought mine, I didn't even know what a Comet was(admittedly, I didn't know much about cars; still don't really, but I'm trying to learn) but I saw this car on Craigslist.com for $1,000 and you know, something inside me kept saying "buy it" and "do what's right". So eventually I went to the guy to have a look... ...And boy was it bad. Interior was gutted. The original factory red paint was sprayed over by some Krylon black spray paint. And the motor would shake more than the buffet table when a fat lady sat down at it. Dad and I both knew this wasn't worth $1,000. Not even for the "rarity" of the car. But something about it though, when I sat down in the seat(which also sunk down because the springs were worn out). Dad and I left that afternoon, but then we were talking. I mentioned it had a "certain feel" about it, and Dad explained to me that I would basically be rebuilding this car from the ground up. Well, I called the guy up, but I made a counter-offer of $500; to my surprise, he accepted. He told me he was gonna use it as a sort of demolition derby car, but he agreed to sell it to me, because he knew I was gonna try to put it back on the road. I've got just over $4,000 tied up in it now, and you know...I think it's the best $4,000 I've ever spent. I'll probably drop another $8,000-$9,000 into it by the time I'm done with the full-resto. And I'll still be satisfied with the money going into it. Sorry for the long-ass post/wall-o-text, but I was going to keep it short, but I just felt it all starting to flow. Meh, I love my '71 Comet. Eventually I'll get a couple of pics or something uploaded showing off the new stripes Dad and I painted on there. They aren't permanent, but it's just to attempt to "take away" from the ugly black paint the previous owner had thrown on there.
Sounds like me. My daily driver is a '99 Explorer XLT. The Maverick sits the majority of the time, but every once in awhile I"ll go out back fire it up and take it for a spin, then that special feeling comes back. My Maverick was 17 years old when I was born.
