I'm looking at doing the Shelby drop to my '75 mav. When I took the upper control arm off, the holes looked much lower than any I'd seen on the mustang sites. If I drop the holes 1", the control arm will be resting on the frame rail. Has anyone else experienced this?
Nope, the shelby drop was not done to any Mav from the factory. I believe some other members here have done the drop on their Mav, so I'm sure they'll chip in. Also, the search function may yield some results. Good luck!
I think there was a "bad" template going around at one time. This thread contains the supposed correct template. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=29167&highlight=shelby+drop+template Dunno if that might be your prob or not. I see where others have mentioned their shocks were too short, and that the holes interfere with spot welds. In summary, I'm not much help.
I didn't think it was. I just can't believe how low the factory holes look compared to the mustang pics I've seen. I'll try to post a picture.
i looked at mine a few weeks ago. i am thinking of doing a drop also. 71 grabber. mine are also very low. it doesnt look like i could drop them an inch. i was beginning to think some one already did the drop because they also trimmed the shock towers. but maybe the maverick is just low like that?
These cars have been around a very long time. The mod could have already been done some time in the past... Unless you are the original owner, of course.
