    Hi everyone!

well for my b-day I got some new seats for the mav. We got them off of ebay, the brackets that came with them are supposed to be universal but they arent. However what is more perplexing is that the seats are too low when installed, I mean I literally can't see over the dash (no I'm not that short, about 5'4"). My question is, how have all of you who don't have original seats get your seats high enough to see, and also if you have modified the brackets, how did you do it? Thanks

    Jeri

P.S. Any pics of your seats, rails, mods, ect. would be greatly appreciated.

1974 Maverick I bought for $500 8 years ago when I was 16. Since then I have invested $30,000 into it.
Jerilyn, Unfortunately I dont have any pictures of anything helpful. I originally had a bench in mine and changed to mustang buckets. I was only able to use one hole from either side the other three holes i marked and drilled. Ihad to watch for anything running under the car b4 drilling. The seat wouldnt sit level so my dad and I cut lead pipe into spacers for the tracks. We also had to put longer bolts through the track. We made it the length so it would go through the spacers and have enough room to thread the nuts on. I hope this helps some. Thom

Well i got a 75 Cherokee that was switched from bench to bucket and all we did to make the seats high enough was weld some pices of angle iron to the floor pan and then bolted them to the seats

however the buckets are commin out what i plan on doin is switchin the buckets with the bench seat in my 69.5 mav

    Jeri-

Same story here, but I used a bunch of 1/4" plates stacked to the right height.
