Speed and temp dont matter Frank. Its all about putting some goo between the pads and the calipers.I find duct tape works really well(the silver stuff)Its not messy,it cooperates with you while you apply it,and I have never had a complaint. I use the camo stuff on 4X4s'
...as a little side note, the brake pads on my dad's brand new 2009 Nissan GTR squeal. This is an $80,000+ car and the brake pads squeal..... Who would've thunk it!!
Some performance cars use a special pad designed to work under extreme braking circumstances with out fadeing or self destructing(melting down). They are generally noisey under normal street use due to the compound used.
I know, I was just messing with scoop..... It has Brembo 15" road race brakes with a very agressive pad material designed for track use. My aerospace brakes have Hawk pads that are agressive.....they used to squeal alot until I put "Silencer" on the rotors.....never squealed since
Amazeing how a little goo can make poeple so happy.Or how a little squeak can drive em nuts.I figured as much with the GTR,thats a pretty mean ride .I would love to get my hands on one for an open track day
Update, I guess the ceramics run too hot, because the duct tape just got crispy after a few days and started to flake off. I will have to try that expensive stuff now...
