well folks i just cant stop picking up these cars ,this one is a goldy brown 74 comet factory v8 car ,engine is rebuilt by the old ladys son who is a mechanic by trade ,rebuild has 47,000 miles on it but was well taken care of car ,i bought it so i can do the v8 swop to one of my 69.5s ,the orange grabber that im going to paint black, i think im going to insure this one and drive it around this winter ,its still insured by Gail the lady i bought it from , she pretty much gave it to me . 600.00 for a turn key driver that has a little minor rust and a few dents ,ill post pics tomorrow. Like i said i want the engine ,tranny,transmission cross member ,frame rail mounts ,engine mounts ,front disk brakes belly bar ,8 rearend ,i think this was a good score ,plus ill have lots of comet parts to sell to make this deal even better.
Sorry Don, i ment 8 inch ,was thinking the 69.5 has 7.5 in it and got confused ,factory 8 inch 5 bolt. This is a all stock late 74 comet
My story exactly that's what I paid for mine. Keep it a Comet and not a parts car for a Mav. Comets are inherently better than Mavericks aesthetically speaking. Great score!:bananaman
thats 100 more than I paid for mine, but it still needs work to be on the road. Drove it home no problem, just doesn't like to start.
oh Jamie ,i forgot to look at the vin ,i did insure it today and drove it around ,its a great little car ,has rear window defrost ,power stearing and power brakes ,,i think im going to polish it and wax it tomorrow.
