Thats really going to depend on the gearing. I run 28 inch, Runs mid 6,S @ 105 + MPH in 1/8 mile. By the way this is with 3.50 gears.
well, what im thinking is i run a 4.11 in my car and been thinking more gear may help it so i thought maybe going to a 26 tire may be the key and still run a 28 on the street. It's been 1.48 on 28 with the 4.11.
id run 26in with a auto till you make good power and run 28in with a stick car with any power just my thanks brad
Just out of curiosity since everyones idea of good is different. Whats good power? Give me an E.T. range?
i run a 26'' tall tire on mine, but my 60' times suck. About 1.70. best time so far is a 11.81 with an added 100 pounds in the trunk to try and slow it down. Motor is a 308. sure like to get the 60's a bit lower myself.
low twelves or faster to me is good power that is when you will start to need the taller tire for more side to help it hook brad
I know the feeling id like to just get a better e.t. period. Sounds like your car may be able to get some more out of it.
One reason I never tried too much is that I run the Sportsman class here and the lower limit is 12.00. When you go to the ET Finals they let you run 11.90 to compensate for the other tacks altitude. That's why I was trying to slow it down some. We were in Bakersfield at that time.
I've run both tires.......obviously you will find the limit of the 26" tire before you find the limit of the 28. I've been low 6's on a 26x10 and almost 5's on a 28. I think all in all, the 26 will be faster since it is lighter..(assuming the car is properly geared).
