Thanks Dave, Here's my problem. My customer asked for a color change on his paint job and we went from gold to a dark green and the inner door panels not only don't match but with the age of them are pretty bad looking. The other thing is.......dummy me, one door had to be replaced along with other sheet metal. Ordered everything out of a scrap yard in Nevada(??). Got the new door painted, back on and all hung and on assembling all the bits and pieces found that the new door has the inner door handle in a different position. Yup, must be the wrong year door???? During all this I threw the old POS rusty door away so I cant even re-fit the inner door handle. Suggestions????? Jim
The doors changed after 1973, 73 used a sorta transition door, it could be set up either way (early (70-72) or late (74-77)) but I've never converted a later door to the early style, maybe someone here might know. Good used door panels can be found, it just takes time.
we made the set that was in Hotties car. used sheet abs and material, came out really nice. Just made a set for the wifes pick up and used black vinyl to cover them.
