I think you ruined the patina of the original car. Naaaa, looks super!!! I love those wheels, what kind are they?
It's an awsome car... i got a chance to see it at one of our meet-and-eats... i saw that issue of C.R.A.P. I think Harolds red/white '56 GMC flatbed was in the same issue...it's a nice truck...he drives it to shows in Fl. and N.C. Tommy, maybe we'll get to see it again at the...swap meet...comming up... ...Frank...
Tires are P235/60/14 all the way around, I think wheels are 7" on front and 8" rear, if I ever change I will go back with 15's of some sort, as you can see in before pics this is the same wheels that had been on it for years. It is after market for a 71 Mach 1 can be found on the internet. Not sure of the site. Thanks Frank and I will look and see if Harolds Truck is in there, looking forward to seeing you and others at Moltrie, someday maybe I can retire and get to run around with you guys or get another job that doesnt require WEEKENDS.
For the record, that's a Mercury not a Ford. If it was a Ford it would be a Maverick and we all know that Mavericks go to bed at night and dream of being Comets. What a beautiful and amazing car. Pulled from what appears to be it's last leg or at least from being an eventual parts car to becoming a show car. A car like it was has one of two options, restoration or parts. Incredible and thanks for the photos. It is a wonderful car.
Thanks Paintank and us Mercury Comet guys have to stick together and fight for our Merc's as we are the minority here...
