yep, like you said, both of them have their pros and cons. the 75 has the transmission and the engine for her. but looking closer at the body, it would have needed some job (little dent here and there) and some other little things that i didn't like about it. so if i have to work on a car, i'd rather do it with a car i bought for less. but i'm sure that the guy who's gonna buy the 75 is gonna have a great time with it. plus i love the blue interior in the 76. the only thing i regret about the blue one are those ugly big bumpers (sorry for the guys who have those...i can't stand these bumpers ) but, hey, don't we buy those cars to work on it and make them unique? i can't hardly wait until this week end! then bumper swap then new paint then new seats then AC then rebuild the engine then put a T-5 then...
and swap the engine, the transmission, the posi, the shifter and the bumpers from the 75 to the 76? do you have a "maverick club and loan" ?
arg! ok, just got a call from the guy with the blue one, somebody has already the cash for 3.000$ but he's still holding the car for me until saturday (since i was the first buyer). my problem is that i wanted to negotiate under 3.000$... more like 2.600$ or 2.700$. so now, i'm thinking it's may be not worth it and i should probably go for the black one . what do you guys think. is it still worth the money for 3.000$? damn! why did this guy came into the picture? and if i go for the black one, how hard is it to install the headliner? (or how much would it cost to have somebody doing it?)
Go in and ofer 2700 like youwere thinking about. The 3000 may be just a ploy to get you to bid more and the seller gets what he wants. It's a gamble and you may have too go to 3000 and or wait 1-2 days and then see if it has sold. Again its a gamble and there will always be more mavericks coming up for sale.I played the gamble myself and lost on 1 but 2 weeks later the 1 I own now showed up for sale and was cheaper and in better shape, with no rust as it was a desert car. Those that know me can verify this.Good luck on your search for these cars.
well, i tried to negociate a little more, but obviously it's not a ploy. i'm already glad to get $250 less than what it was supposed to be (the original price was $3,250), and plus i asked him to fix little things here and there before i get the car. the second reason i'm not trying to negociate more is that i don't have a car right now, so i really need a car to drive every day. do you really think that $3,000 is to much for that car? i mean, i don't wanna miss an opportunity, but i don't wanna do a mistake either...
ya, thats a good looking car. you said the motors strong so as long as theres not gallons of bondo covering giant rust holes i think its a very good price go for it btw, who's the blonde in the 1st pic?
