Um yes you can... lol Exactly! Ive done it a few times, turns out it was ignition problem, not low fuel in the bowl. lol
CometGT, You are not entirely wrong. Some of the newer Holleys have done away with the external bowl adjustmens. You can always install the bowls with adjusters in place. As for changing jets, it is necessary to remove the bowls on the Holley carbs but how often is it necessary to do so? We all live and learn - so you have learned - no harm in that. I like the older Ford carburetors too but find there are limits to them in float pivot positions and add-ons that help in certain circumstances. I am also biased toward the Holley Carburetors because I have been trained on them and worked with them for so many years. For street use either works as well as the other.
