I just wanted to give an update on my Comet. I bought this car in 1985. Got in an accident in 1996 and stored it for about 9 years and have been working on it on and off for the last 3 to 4 years. The first pic is when I started rebuilding it.... after working on it since I bought that is. I just finished rebuilding and painting the whole front end. New bigger sway bar and added 13 inch disc brakes with Cobra calibers. My friend and I just painted the engine compartment this weekend and the front end goes back on next weekend. I'll update with pics.

I also got rid of the door handles, mirrors, trunk lock, antenna and all the marker lights. The engine compartment is also cleaned up. Welded up all the holes..... blower motor, heater hoses... ect. I have a Vintage air unit I'm using and I'm running all wiring harnesses and hoses inside the fenders.

Car is looking good! I also like how you shaved the cowl vents and the side marker lights for that smooth look. :thumbs2:

Very cool!!! Which Vintage air system are you using? I am currently close to buying a system from Classic Auto Air.

I'll have to check on the Vintage Air system. I bought it awhile ago and it's in the attic. I do remember it's one of the universal systems and when I pre fit the unit under the dash there was lots of room.... a lot more then I thought there would be.

Hey Jeff (CaptainComet) I noticed you were at Jason's doing that tear down. I have his passenger fender and valance on my Comet from the Maverick that caught fire. By the way, the stripes are not going on the hood i was just trying some ideas. I have a custom paint going on the car and the stripes would be too much.
