It may seem to run fine in park, that is because there is no load on the engine. Not sure what your question is? Once a load is put on the engine and it runs rough, there could be alot of things causing it to do that. Carb. adjustment, timing. vaccuum leak, grounded spark plugs/wires, choke stuck, etc...............
it has all new plugs wires cap and rotor but i put a carb off of a 300 on it and it ran a little better someone said it might be the tourc converter could that be the case
had a coil do that to me would run fine in park could even rev it up as soon as a load was put on it dead had just put a new B&M torqe converter in it thought it was bad
Try pinching off all the vacuum lines one at a time, till you find one that does not change the way it runs. Also, check the vacuum advance can on the dist. Put a piece of vac. hose on it and pull a vacuum, with the cap off, and see if it moves the advance in the distributer. If not, the diaphram is bad. This will make your car run at a retarted timing set once it is underway. Let us know, Earl
This probably isnt the problem but this happend to me a week ago, just from vibrations i guess one of the nuts on my engine mount bolts fell of, and the engine would shake like hell when ever i put into gear, and almost die.
i'm gonna have to try all that hopefuly i figure it out but it wont be till the snow is gone thanks for the advice
